Live On Purpose - 5 Step GuideTo Designing A Life Roadmap

Do you ever catch your self thinking about what life could have been like if you would have done a few things differently ? Do you ever wonder what will come your way in two, five, ten years? Or do you have a road map carefully designed to lead you in the direction you want to go and already know where you will be in years to come.

Sadly, most people don't live their life on purpose, they simply wake up every morning and do the same 'live for today' activities day in and day out. When presented with an opportunity they will not invest in themselves but they will go spend on themselves.

We must decide to live on purpose. Everyday is an opportunity to do something great with ourselves. Every day can be used as one step toward our goals. Hundreds of years ago, Socrates, arguably one of the worlds greatest minds was approached by a young man and asked " How do I get to Mount Olympus? " after a few seconds of thinking Socrates looks up at the young man and responds "One step at a time". Wise advice from an individual who was clearly way ahead of his time. With that said I'm going to give you 5 important steps in no particular order to consider when designing a road map for your life.

1. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? On paper, write down three things that you would like to accomplish before your life is over. Try to keep it realistic, if you are 40 years old and never touched a golf club in your life, you obviously don't want to write down winning the PGA tour. Writing your goals down on paper not only gives you better clarity of what it is you want to do with your life, it also gives you a destination point, an ending. Write down how much money you want to make, places you want to visit, things you want to do. Make sure you look at your goals daily, write them down as often as you would like, let them enter your conscious and sub-conscious mind.

2. Decide to develop successful habits, do away with bad habits such as too much TV or over shopping and replace them with good habits such as educating you mind daily and regular exercise. You will be surprised to know that 3.5 hours of TV daily amounts to over 45 days a year. Scary.

3. Make sure to schedule quality time for the people you love. I assure you no one in their death bed regrets not spending enough time working. Life comes and goes quickly, make sure you have plenty of time for family and close friends. Yes work is important, yes you must earn a living. The internet is a powerful tool that can be used to leverage your time, if you are reading this article then you can earn six figures from home.

4. Educate yourself. Not much more to it, instead of spending hours mesmerized in front of the TV take a few hours a week to read inspirational and informative material. Think of a car, when the oil is dirty in the car we replace it with new and cleaner oil resulting in a well maintained machine. Our minds are not much different if you want a successful life read about successful people find out what they did, what their habits are, where they go, what they read and soon you will be one of them.

5. Have fun. Lets face it, all work no play is no way to live.
I hope the above material is helpful to anyone looking for direction in their life. These are not the only things to consider but definitely they are some of the more important ones.
